Tidbit: Update on life.

Since this blog has began, Laura has been super busy with her new job, so I've been doing most of the posting. Which is totally understandable, of course! I just feel like by updating everyday, I'm not giving enough quality to what I'm posting. I'm the kind of person that needs fire to write about something. I have to be incredibly passionate about it. So I've decided that when I want to talk about a topic on Words of Wisdom Fridays, or post a photo on Wednesday, I will. It may not be every week, but they will be updated within two weeks, at least!

So while everyone is watching the Superbowl, I'm cooped up in bed, studying PMB (you don't want to know what it is if you're not an advertising student. It's basically hell.), and drinking this stuff:

Do you ever just take a moment of your time to reflect on your life? I've been doing that a lot lately. I've been thinking about the things I've done, and how blessed I am to be able to say "I've done that". I've been thinking about things that I want to do in the future (travel), and how am I going to be able to do that (getting another job). Mostly, I've been thinking about dreams. My dreams. Big dreams.

This week I finally figured out what I want to do after school is over, and I've been compiling a list of "21 things to do before I'm 21". I think the best thing you can do is dream. It gives you something to strive for. Dreams can become reality, if you want them to come true badly enough. Don't let anyone stop you from dreaming.

Tidbit: Tea Rooms

On Thursday night, I traveled in the rain to my friends house in Niagara Falls. On Friday we drove to America and I bought this beautiful rabbit print dress. I fell in love with it last month but decided to wait to get it until our trip to America happened. (I also may have bought a rabbit print peter pan collared shirt AND a rabbit necklace...). Then we went to an adorable British Tea Room called "The Queen Charlotte Tea Room" and ate like Queen Charlotte herself. Such a lovely adventure! Now to go finish schoolwork..

Sunday: 10 Things

I plan on spending the rest of my Sunday eating truffles, drinking tea, and watching 10 Things I Hate About You, in honour of Heath Ledger, who died 4 years ago today. I've been reading lots of interviews from Michelle discussing Heath, and how they were estranged when he died. When asked if she believes they would've been together, she says "It's one of my favourite things to imagine."

Hope you are all having a lovely Sunday!

Sunday: Award Season

I. Love. Award. Season.

Even if the love of my life, Ryan Gosling, is not there to represent Canada (Fun fact: He lived in my city. If only I was a wee bit older..), and it is odd not seeing Jesse Eisenberg's beautiful face at random angles, but I still love it all.

With my current Marilyn Monroe obsession, and with my love for Michelle Williams, I was so pleased that she won. Literally, every time she would come on the screen I would do a little scream and clap. It's a mix between her incredible acting, shy demeanour, and her incredible pixie cut. AND she wore velvet! Perfect.

Here is a (bad) video of her winning her award. Try not to shed a little tear!

"Michelle Williams told me she keeps her hair short-cropped because Heath Ledger liked it that way."

Tidbit: First week, complete!

Hello all! I just want to thank you to whoever has read or followed us during our first week writing this blog! This has been a big work in progress for Laura and I, and we really appreciate every kind word that has been said. We plan on keeping it up for the long run, posting our favourite things, giving advice and telling stories.

On New Year's Eve, I wrote out my resolutions, and chatted with Laura about the upcoming year. We keep describing it as "The Year of Change", because we are determined to make things change for us. Already, Laura has left her old job and is onto a new one tomorrow!

I've started waking up and telling myself different things each day. Today was "Don't Stress Out", because I start a brand new semester in school. New classes, new classmates. I think if you tell yourself to just "Be Happy" for the day, it'll work.

We hope you had a wonderful first week of 2012.

Love,
Kelsey and Laura.
